Piano Mentor · Performer · Artist
Two decades of classical training, brought to you as a living, breathing dialogue between student and music.
01 / About
With over twenty years of performance and teaching experience, I guide students from their first notes to concert-ready performances. My training spans the Royal Conservatory, masterclasses with András Schiff, and residencies across Europe and Asia.
My approach is rooted in listening — to the music, to the composer's intent, and above all, to you. Every student brings a unique voice; my role is to help it resonate more fully.
02 / Philosophy
"Technique is the servant, never the master. Every scale, every exercise exists to set the music free."
— Elena Voss
We begin every lesson by simply listening — to recordings, to each other, to silence. Music only emerges from a place of true attentiveness.
The body is the instrument. We develop posture, breath, and movement awareness alongside finger technique, preventing injury and unlocking expression.
Theory, history, and analysis are not abstract — they are the map. Understanding why a piece works transforms how it feels to play it.
03 / Lessons
All lessons are offered online and in-person at my studio in Vienna, or on-location for select students.
For those stepping up to the piano for the first time. We build a relationship with the instrument before we build technique.
For students who can play, and are ready to play beautifully. We refine technique, deepen musicality, and expand repertoire significantly.
For serious students preparing for conservatory admission, competitions, or professional performance. Intensive and transformative.
04 / Repertoire
A living selection from the repertoire we explore together. The canon is vast — these are touchstones, each chosen for what they teach beyond notes on a page.
05 / Testimonials
Elena transformed my relationship with the piano. I had played for years without truly listening. Within six months, I was hearing music I had never noticed before — in pieces I thought I already knew.
I was preparing for my conservatory auditions and felt completely stuck. Elena's approach to Chopin's ballade — the way she unpacked the architecture — changed how I think about music entirely. I got in.
My daughter has been with Elena since she was seven. She is now fourteen and performing Beethoven sonatas with genuine understanding. The patience and artistry Elena brings to teaching is exceptional.
